Mushroom Love

Love is

like a

poisonous

mushroom --

you don't

know if it

is the real thing

until it is too late.

We love to love

in spite of its possible consequences.

The world revolves around love and a good balance

of love of self, love of family, love of a special other,

and love for your fellow man will make life most enjoyable.

Some of us are born with broken pickers, and it appears

to be both hereditary and learned.

If Mom and Dad have been married and divorced multiple

times, the children are likely to do the same.

To break the cycle of broken relationships, try staying out of a

relationship until you learn how to pick healthy mushrooms.

Use a friend, hopefully an expert, to help your pick your mushrooms.

Rely on friends who have survived and grown into a loving

relationship and seek their advice.

Most importantly, when good advice is offered, take it.

"I am... a mushroom;
On whom the dew of heaven drops now and then."
     ~ John Ford
If you really love someone you would be willing to eat

poisonous mushrooms for them, but if they loved you back,

they would never ask you to.

Have faith, your Higher Power knows that human nature

is to have a man and a woman love, live and grow together

into old age, and he will not abandon you.

If your picker is broken, go to a good place recommended

by the butcher, the baker, the preacher, the rabbi, the teacher,

the Indian chief, or the candlestick maker and start by

choosing to be a friend to one person of the same sex as you.

Talk to your new friend about love and feelings.

Learn that a relationship is a two way street, no hostages allowed.

Have your new friend help you grow your circle of mushrooms.

When you have a circle of love, the poisonous mushrooms will

stand out in the crowd and you can learn not to pick them.

Do not be deceived by appearances, by hidden ulterior motives,

sex, money, things, or any of the other traps that

bad mushrooms use to deceive their intended victim.

Stop picking mushrooms, mushrooms are a fungus that thrive

on the remains of their victims.

Pick your friends among the flowers and the trees

that grow on natures love.

"To love and to be loved
is to feel the sun from both sides."
             ~ David Viscott

Stay in the sunlight, only mushrooms grow in the dark.

Do not smother your love, let it breath and let it shine.

Love is a peck on the cheek, a squeeze of the hand,

and a quiet "Thank You."

Happiness is helping someone help themselves.
