Four Horseman

The illness,

the disease,

your choice,

wants us to:

Isolate,

Be alone,

Push away anyone

who loves us,

And to kill ourselves.

.

"The less people tolerated us, the more we withdrew from society,
from life itself. As we became subjects of King Alcohol, shivering denizens
of his mad realm, the chilling vapor that is loneliness settled down.
It thickened, ever becoming blacker. Some of us sought out sordid places,
hoping to find understanding companionship and approval.
Momentarily we did - then would come oblivion and the awful awakening
to face the hideous

Unhappy drinkers who read this page will understand!"

Subjects of King Alcohol, that obsession, that craving, that uncontrollable
urge to do that which will power cannot dissuade.

Do not blame the true alcoholic, the one whose denial syatem is so entrenched
that they become pathalogical liars, unable to discerne the truth even
when to be honest would be the right thing to do, the one who promises everyone
that the next time will be different, the one whose illness has progressed to
the point of no return.

Even when introduced to a new way of living most will not recover.

To surrender, to be willing to change, to accept constructive criticism,
to learn to do the next right thing and then practice kindness,
unconditional love, patience and tolerance, forgiveness and
to learn to pray for guidance and learn to meditate,
listen to the answers to your prayers
is a miracle granted to only those who are willing to do
the will of the God of their understanding.

Today, be willing.
Love, hugs and prayers.
